We are Devan and Hamsa; proud pawrents of Bella and Chaaru, our two feline babies we adopted in 2020 as three-month-old kittens. Knowing little about how to care for kittens and cats early on in our journey, we spent hours researching everything from how to play with our kittens to what to feed them. We have learned so much from our cats and have realized that all animals be they cats, dogs, or even birds, all have emotions and deserve to be loved. We have fostered several stray cats along the way and helped them find loving forever homes.
We started this blog with the hope of helping other cat parents figure out how to care for their pets while documenting some of what our cats are up to (hint: it’s demanding for pets, play, and the occasional treat). Join us on this blog as we learn more about what makes cats tick, but first, here’s Bella and Chaaru.
Bella
Bella is a sassy cat who loves to have conversations with us and is always up for a game of “chasing the makeshift piece of string while ignoring the expensive toy Mom and Dad bought”. She loves going for walks on her leash and driving around town. She gets jealous when we shower too much attention on Chaaru but she never misses an opportunity to snuggle with her sister. Bella is the seafood lover in the house and will scream when she smells shrimp and anchovies on the stove.
Chaaru
Chaaru is a sensitive cat who’s always asking for pets and will climb on our lap especially when we sit at the office desk. She has a small voice and still sounds just like a kitten but will give her all at playtime. She’s responsible for many a zooming session, always instigating Bella to run around the house with her just when Mom and Dad are winding down for the night. She hates car rides and is mostly content chilling in her own little cat condominium until it’s time for pets or play.
